My first YA book as an editor!

Barbara Stewart’s THE IN-BETWEEN, a young adult psychological thriller in which 14-year-old Elanor’s near-death experience opens a door to a world inhabited by bold, beautiful Madeline—a girl who is everything she isn’t—and finds her life quickly spiraling out of control, to Vicki Lame at St. Martin’s, by Amy Tipton at Signature Literary Agency (World).

Inspiration

Admittedly, I never really felt the need to blog before. I’m always too busy editing other people’s words to edit my own, much less write them. However, one of my new authors, Suzanne Palmieri (The Witch of Little Italy, Winter 2013) wrote a post yesterday that I found entirely inspiring. Suzy is one of those wonderful writers that all other writers—published and unpublished too—should take as an example that anything can happen. When I met her, she had written a heck of a lot of books, all stuffed in metaphorical drawers. Then, after much perseverance, and some luck (because I think luck does play a role), she got an agent and sold four books in a single day—two to me.  So I want to share that post with all of you, and I hope you find it inspiring too. (I’ll try to use this forum to post exciting things about my projects and “editor advice” in the future.)
